What Are Chemical Peels?
Chemical peels are an effective and noninvasive way to resurface skin! By applying a chemical solution to the skin, the outer layer of skin that holds onto any blemishes or flaws is “dried out”. When the dead skin flakes away, you’re left with beautiful, even, radiant skin. Chemical peels can also:
- lightly smooth out skin texture
- reduce inflammation in active blemishes
- lighten acne discoloration
- reduce pore size
- kill bacteria that would otherwise continue to cause breakouts
Chemical peels target post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, commonly referred to as PIH. PIH refers to the spots left over from old blemishes, often visible acne scars or other dark spots on the skin.
The iO Clinic’s chemical peels in Palo Alto will be customized to your particular type of skin and address your personal skin needs!
The iO Clinic’s Chemical Peels
Luminous Peel: helps reduce discoloration and acne breakouts. It is often recommended between facials to support skin health. Expect 2-3 days of redness and/or peeling.
Brightening Treatment: This treatment is recommended for people experiencing hyperpigmentation and melasma. This is good for all skin types, but especially skin that experiences redness and oiliness. Expect 3-5 days of redness and/or peeling.
Age Defy Peel: We recommend this peel for people concerned about their skin’s sun damage or mature skin with fine lines. Expect 3-7 days of redness and/or peeling.
Jan Marini Transform Peel: This advanced peel delivers maximum results by combining acids plus retinol and additional peptides and antioxidants. Expect 3-7 days of redness and/or peeling.
Add-on Eye Brightening Peel – Add the Eye Brightening Peel to any of the above Chemical Peels. This treats the area around the eyes and can reduce dark circles, crepey skin, and fine lines. Expect 3-5 days or redness and/or peeling.
Facial add-ons
Chemical peels are an easy and effective way to kickstart your skin transformation. However, if you want to go the extra mile, the iO Clinic offers several add-ons to your chemical peel treatment in Palo Alto! Here are our most popular ones:
- Dermaplane: a minimally invasive treatment that removes the top layer of skin and peach fuzz to unclog pores and leave skin with a baby-soft finish.
- LED Red Light Face Panel: uses low-level red light to improve your skin’s health and elasticity by promoting the production of collagen and elastin.
- Resurfacing Peels: adding a light resurfacing peel to any facial treatment can enhance the results.
- High-Frequency Treatment: uses electrical currents to treat a variety of skin conditions from acne to fine lines and wrinkles. The currents oscillate at a high rate, producing heat while also oxygenating the skin.
- Decolletage Treatment: extend your facial to your neck, upper chest, and shoulders for a more complete hydrating, cleansing, and brightening experience.
